Admissions Requirements for the MSc in Global Hospitality Business

Academic

Professional

English Language

A recognized bachelor’s degree in hospitality or tourism, or a related field such as business management. An excellent academic record (final GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 cumulative average scale).

A minimum of one year of work experience in the hospitality or tourism industry (including internships).

English communication skills are essential for success in our programs. That’s why all applicants need to demonstrate a minimum C1 level in speaking, writing, reading, and listening.
You must demonstrate English language proficiency with one of the following official test scores:
  • IELTS Academic: Overall 7.0 | Speaking & Listening: 7.0
  • Cambridge C1 Advanced: Grade B | Speaking & Listening: Grade B
  • TOEFL iBT: Overall 100 | Speaking & Listening: 25
  • Duolingo English Test: Overall 130 | Speaking & Listening: 130
  • TOEFL Essentials: Overall 10,5 | Speaking & Listening: 10
You may qualify for a waiver from this English testing requirement if:
1) You have obtained a university-level degree (Bachelor's or Master's Level) in English meeting the following conditions:
  • A full-time degree or diploma that lasted at least nine months,
  • Was offered by a recognized institution,
  • Was taught and assessed entirely in English, and
  • Was completed within two years of your intended program start date.
2) If you’ve worked professionally in English, meeting the following conditions:
  • You have at least two years of full-time work experience in English,
  • You used English daily for reading, writing, listening, and speaking,
  • You worked in a professional environment that required clear and effective communication, and
  • You held that position within the past two years (i.e., it ended recently or is still ongoing).

Application Deadline

The application deadline for all candidates is :

May 31, 2026 – For the September intake (visa-required candidates)

June 15, 2026 – For the September intake (non-visa candidates)

Candidates must apply to one school only

Application Process

Step 1. Online Application

All of these documents must be submitted electronically via the online application form.

  • Your CV / resume
  • Copy of your transcripts and diplomas in English
  • Personal Statement (at least 500 words)
  • Proof of English level (for non-native English speakers)
  • Copy of your passport/s
  • One recent Employers Reference or one work certificate
  • One Letter of recommendation (format downloadable below) from an academic or professional reference

When you have uploaded all the required documents, please finalize your application by paying your application fee of CHF 175.

Step 2. Admissions Interview

Once you have submitted a complete application, our Admissions Team will contact you to organize the first of 2 interviews (on campus or by video conference). Upon successful completion of the first interview, a second interview will be organized with one of the program's partner universities.

Step 3. Final Decision

Final decisions will be made by the Admissions Committee after an evaluation of your complete application file and interviews. Allow a minimum of 4 weeks after the second interview to receive your final decision.
