Alain Kropf

General Manager, Royal Savoy Hotel / Hotel General Management Program Lecturer, EHL

With over 30 years of experience in managing prestigious luxury hotels worldwide, Alain Kropf currently serves as the General Manager of the Royal Savoy Hotel & Spa Lausanne. His career includes leadership roles at renowned properties such as Shangri-La Jakarta and Al Bustan Palace in Oman, where he developed deep expertise in managing diverse stakeholders in highly competitive settings. Alain has led teams of hundreds, overseen complex pre-openings, and navigated cross-cultural business environments, all while ensuring stakeholder alignment and engagement.

David Bardolet

Academic Director / Full Professor, EHL

Prof. David Bardolet has designed and taught courses in business and corporate strategy, strategic thinking and entrepreneurship in many Master and other executive programs. He has also conducted research and training programs with many multi-national companies in a variety of industries and countries all over the world. His current research activities focus the effects of digital technologies on how companies compete and collaborate.

His past research activities have focused on behavioural strategy, resource allocation, strategic decision-making processes, corporate strategy and corporate entrepreneurship. In particular, he has conducted a number of studies on corporate resource allocation processes and the managerial biases that affect the efficiency of those processes.

He is the author of several articles on those subjects. His works have been published in Journal of Management, Strategic Management Journal and Industrial and Corporate Change, among others, and his research has been presented and discussed in numerous academic conferences.
